Christopher of Plainville, CT suddenly finds himself without a modified ride.
Thanks to the federal government.
Christopher, who drives the #13 Mystique Motorsports Chevrolet arrived at work
on Friday, June 9th to find federal marshals loading up his race cars and
equipment all due in part into an ongoing investigation into his car owner,
James Galante of Danbury, CT.
Galante owns several trash hauling businesses and a minor league hockey team,
the Danbury Trashers of the United Hockey League.
He is under FBI investigations into racketeering charges in the federal
investigation into organized crime of the trash hauling business.
Christopher, who is the all time winningest driver at the Stafford Motor
Speedway and who finished second in points last season to champion Tony
Hirschman now is ride less just two races into the season.
He is now trying to figure out what to do as he watched helplessly as the six
cars were hauled out on flat bed Haulers along with other equipment that were
stored at Christopher's shop.
"They just showed up, gave me a paper with what they were taking. On the list
was six race cars 01 to 06." A dejected Christopher said on Saturday morning at
his home.
Christopher was asked if they took anything else, he said, "they are suppose to
come and get the hauler but its still sitting here."
When Christopher, who is a racers racer, was asked what was next he replied
"just working at M&T". That is the business that he owns. "I don't plan on doing
anything. I enjoyed racing for Jim and felt that we had a championship team in
place."
When asked if he would be at Jennerstown this week he just said no. But he added
"I may just run a few Busch (East) races, but I was going to do that anyhow."
Ted joked a little bit when asked about missing the modified race at New
Hampshire, a track he has dominated at recently.
"Well, someone else can win it but they really won't because they didn't beat
me."
When Ted was asked if the authorities had questioned him he replied that they
spoke with him for about 20 minutes or so back a few months ago and said "all
good things must come to an end."
The government has taken over temporary control of all of Galante's businesses
when the 113 page federal indictment came down on Friday. |
